Two persons have been arrested by the Bengal Police in connection with the attack on BJP MP Khagen Murmu and MLA Sankar Ghosh in North Bengal. This marks the first arrest made by the local police in the BJP leaders' attack case.
According to officials, one person was arrested from Nagrakata and another from Jaigaon.
The arrests come after Monday's stone-pelting attack on BJP MP Khagen Murmu and Siliguri MLA Sankar Ghosh in Jalpaiguri's Nagrakata area. Both leaders were assisting flood-affected communities when they were targeted. BJP leaders alleged that the assault was orchestrated by TMC members.
