THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As per reports, a third Vande Bharat train is on its way to Kerala. The service will be on the Ernakulam-Bengaluru route. BJP state president and former Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar announced the news through his Facebook page. Rajeev Chandrasekhar thanked Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for approving the third train to Kerala and said that he had personally met with the minister recently to demand the need for the new train in Kerala.

The Vande Bharat service from Kerala to Bengaluru was a long-standing demand of Malayalees. During the festive seasons, private bus operators charge extortionate rates from Bengaluru to Kerala, forcing many Keralites to drop their plans of reaching home.
