THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Chief Minister's remark mocking the short stature of an opposition MLA who protested in the Assembly over the Sabarimala gold panel issue has sparked controversy.

"There is a saying in my place, 'As tall as eight mukkal'. A person who is only that tall went to attack the Watch and Ward. He cannot do it with his own physical strength. He was going to attack the silent Watch and Ward with the protection of the Assembly. This is shameful," - the Chief Minister made this remark without naming the member, before which the opposition had boycotted the House.
