MARTINSBURG - The Martinsburg and Hedgesville boys soccer teams battled each other and Mother Nature on Tuesday night.

With rain coming down the entire game, at different levels of heaviness throughout, the two teams, in an important game for postseason seeding, played to a 1-1 draw at Cobourn Field.

All of the scoring came in the first 30 minutes of the game, beginning with a goal by the Eagles' Hayden Powell less than four minutes in to put Hedgesville up 1-0. Powell took advantage of the keeper being up in the box and fired his shot from about 20 yards out into the back net for the lead with 36:38 on the first-half clock.

Almost exactly 10 minutes later, with 26:31 on the clock, the Bulldogs got the equalizer. The ball was sent up field, and Cole Everhart beat the keeper to the ball
