Internet personality Stewart (Brittlestar) Reynolds has some thoughts about why cats are good role models for resisting fascism.

Naps, for one.

“Fascist and authoritarian regimes thrive on keeping you exhausted, they thrive on making sure that you are overwhelmed all the time,” said Reynolds, a Stratford, man known for political-comedy video sketches.

“And cats are very good at not being overwhelmed, in the sense they will just walk away,” take a nap, and deal with the problem later, he said.

They’re also nimble, unpredictable, use cuteness to their advantage, and take over spaces that aren’t theirs, Reynolds said.

“One of the things that I do, of course, with satire is try to reflect back what’s happening in the news and in current events,” he said.
