A late-night collision on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway on Tuesday has once again brought to mind the Bhankrota fire that occurred nearly ten months ago, although the recent incident unfolded slightly differently.
The crash involved a truck carrying cylinders and a tanker loaded with chemicals. Remarkably, no fire broke out for approximately 21 minutes after the impact. Then, suddenly, a cylinder exploded, followed by a chain of explosions that echoed for several kilometres.
Questions remain about why the fire erupted after a 21-minute delay and how the cylinders began to detonate. Bhaskar reporters visited the site to gather detailed information. An animated video prepared by the team illustrates the entire sequence of the tragic incident.
