COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Police said they arrested a suspect early Wednesday morning after he allegedly assaulted two officers.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers found a wanted person at 2:40 a.m. while checking the area of the 2800 block of East Pikes Peak Avenue.
Officers say the suspect ran when they went to detain him. Police say they caught up with the suspect and grabbed him and saw he had a knife on his person.
Police said the man began to physically resist arrest, and struck two officers, causing bodily injury.
Officers took the suspect, Jonathan Romero, into custody and he was taken to the hospital for injuries he sustained during the arrest.
According to online jail records, Romero had felony warrants for failure to appear and failu
