PHOENIX — We’re learning that two rural airports in Arizona will be impacted if the government shutdown continues.
Prescott and Show Low Regional are just two of more than 100 airports nationwide that could lose funding from the Federal Aviation Administration.
It could happen in just four days from now. Federal funding for air travel in rural areas will expire Sunday unless lawmakers reach a spending agreement. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said a lot is at stake here.
"There's many small communities across the country that will now no longer have the resources to make sure they have air service in their community," Duffy said.
