WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- A man has been charged with murdering his parents in a double shooting Monday in Waterbury, police said.

The suspect, Javian Adams, 25, of Waterbury, was charged with murder with special circumstances, murder-commission of felony, reckless endangerment in the first degree, criminal possession of a firearm, larceny of a motor vehicle, criminal use of a weapon and carrying a pistol without a permit.

During a press conference Wednesday morning, police identified his mother as Carlene Williams, 52, of Waterbury, and father as Marc Adams, 55, of Waterbury.

On Monday night, responding officers found two people in a Beverly Avenue house suffering from gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Adams' bond was set at $5 million, and he is expected to be
