SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Hampden District Attorney's Office has identified the victim of the deadly stabbing on Main Street in Springfield last month.

On September 29th, at approximately 10:35 p.m., officers were sent to the 2800 block of Main Street for a report of a stabbing. When crews arrived, they found a man suffering from a stab wound. The man was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where he died due to his injuries.

The DA's office released the identity of the victim on Wednesday as 48-year-old Timothy Chapdelaine of Springfield.

Detectives received information about a possible suspect later identified as 36-year-old Hector Lopez of Springfield. He was located in the area of the 2600 block of Main Street and arrested on an outstanding warrant.
