CHARLOTTE — The awards continue to pile up for running back Rico Dowdle . The veteran rusher has been named the NFC offensive player of the week by the league, after his dominant performance in the Panthers' comeback against the Dolphins on Sunday.
In Sunday's 27-24 win, Dowdle rushed for 206 yards, and added 28 receiving yards. His 206 yards on the ground tied with Jonathan Stewart for the second-best single-game performance in franchise history. The 234 yards from scrimmage were third-most in a single game in franchise history, behind two Christian McCaffrey performances, both of 237 yards.
Dowdle was also the winner of Kyle Brandt's "Angry Run" of the week, and has been nominated for the FedEx Air and Ground player of the week. Fans can still vote for the latter here .
