BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WFSB) - Jurors heard additional testimony on Wednesday in the federal corruption trial of Kostas Diamantis, the former Lamont administration official.

Diamantis, who oversaw school construction projects as deputy budget director, faces 22 federal counts of bribery and extortion.

Building on Tuesday’s testimony from John Duffy and Antonietta Roy, prosecutors presented additional witnesses who described Diamantis as powerful and capable of securing construction projects, but only in exchange for payments.

Anionetta Roy, who owns a project management company, testified that Diamantis repeatedly called her demanding money.

She told jurors she hired his daughter because “she was afraid there would be backlash” if she refused.
