HOULTON, Maine (WABI/WAGM) - A Maine town manager who is still on the job after a felony arrest is set to be arraigned next year.

Cameron Clark was arrested on September 25th and charged with domestic violence assault and tampering with a witness.

The 27-year-old was released on bail and was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, but that hearing was waived.

The Aroostook County court clerk tells WABI Clark will appear in court on Tuesday, February 3rd.

Clark, who was appointed town manager in April, remains in his role despite mounting public pressure.

Two Houlton town councilors have already resigned over the decision to retain him.

Many Houlton residents are now calling for Clark’s removal and greater transparency from town leadership.

A peaceful protest is planned for Tuesday
