Francine the cat, described as "a beacon of the community," is finally home after a desperate search for several weeks by her community.
Francine, Richmond, Virginia's "unofficial mascot," calls a Lowe's in North Hampton County home and has been living there for eight years. But when she went missing in September, her community was left heartbroken.
"From the start, we knew we’d do whatever it took to bring Francine home," store manager Mike Sida said in a statement. "She’s part of who we are here."
Leaders across Lowe’s corporate office, the teams at Lowe’s West Broad Street store in Richmond, Virginia, and the hardware store's regional distribution center in Garysburg, North Carolina, did everything they could to look for Francine, including using thermal drones, professional trackers
