The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) swung into action to provide necessary health services to affected citizens and ensuring no drinking water was contaminated, after 76 patients of water borne diseases were identified in Bavdhan Budruk.

“The civic health department visited 597 houses in Bavdhan Budruk and carried out screenings of 2,351 citizens. A total of 33 new patients were identified today and water samples of 23 houses have been sent to the laboratory for testing,” said Vaishali Jadhav, Assistant Medical Officer.

She said the PMC had found that many citizens of the area reported stomach illnesses since the last four days and 43 patients were identified till Tuesday.
