A new Leger poll suggests Premier Wab Kinew’s New Democrats remain in a comfortable position with Manitoba voters at the halfway mark of their four-year mandate — though mounting concerns about affordability, healthcare and homelessness could test the government’s staying power over the next two years.
The survey, conducted online from Sept. 24 to 26 among 400 Manitoba residents, found 44 per cent of decided or leaning voters would support the NDP if a provincial election were held today. The Progressive Conservatives, now led by Obby Khan, trailed at 36 per cent, while the Liberals sat at 16 per cent and the Greens and other parties combined for about two per cent.
