Nicole Sanders, 37, was shocked when she was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy in 2023. Two years later, she is still working to live with the added challenges from the disease.
The muscular dystrophy has limited her mobility, and she now uses leg braces or a wheelchair to navigate the world. One item that would help her get around is an accessible wheelchair van. But with the insurance denial, a $50,000 price tag now stands between the 37-year-old and the vehicle.
