"The View" host Alyssa Farah Griffin has a hot topic of her own to discuss.

Griffin, who helms the ABC talk show alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin, revealed that she and her husband, Justin Griffin, are expecting their first child during the daytime telecast's Oct. 8 episode.

The former White House communications director, 36, playfully shared the news while the hosts were reminiscing on past embarrassing moments as part of their Hot Topics segment. For Griffin's embarrassment, the TV personality showed a September 2023 clip of Goldberg asking her if she was pregnant live on air.

At the time, a flustered Griffin blanched at the question and noted that her mother-in-law was in the studio audience. "No, oh my God. You can't say that," Griffin told Goldberg.

Griffin turned the tables on Goldberg on Wednesday's episode. When the clip finished playing, she rubbed her stomach and asked the Oscar-winning actress, "So, Whoopi, do you want to ask me again?"

The revelation drew immediate cheers from viewers and Griffin's cohosts. Haines and Hostin excitedly ran over to hug Griffin in celebration.

"Baby Boy Griffin arrives this February," said Griffin, revealing the child's sex. "I'm so glad to not have to hide it anymore. I can breathe."

Griffin, who went through five rounds of in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment, added that she was "so overjoyed" by the family milestone.

Alyssa Farah Griffin details infertility struggles

Griffin opened up about her pregnancy struggles with husband Justin Griffin in a joint interview with People magazine published Oct. 8.

Although the couple, who married in November 2021, were "ready to have a family" a year into their marriage, Griffin's bout of infertility – including an unexpected diagnosis of endometriosis – complicated their parenting journey.

"There were a couple of times I was an absolute monster!" Griffin joked about her IVF treatment. "It was an emotional roller coaster. My first round wasn't bad, but I got over-confident and started my second right away, and let me tell you, it's unlike anything I've experienced."

She continued: "You do feel somewhat out of control with your own body. It's hard to balance the hormones of it all, especially when you're not getting the best news after a cycle. But Justin, he was never hard on me."

Despite the emotional difficulties they encountered, Justin Griffin expressed admiration for his wife's determination, explaining, "From the first round to the last, she was always like, 'Oh no, I've got this. There's going to be nothing that can get in my way. I'm tough. I know how to do this.'"

"Both Justin and I just feel so grateful that we were in the position that we were even able to do that many rounds of IVF," Griffin said. "I consider it a miracle of science and just such a wonderful thing that we've gotten to where we are now."
