The FBI’s Boston division ranked third in a nationwide crackdown on violent crime over the summer, netting 404 arrests in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and Rhode Island, the agency said Monday.
During “Operation Summer Heat,” the division also made 129 seizures of “deadly drugs,” confiscated 38 weapons, and identified or located 27 children who have been victimized, the FBI said in a statement.
“Operation Summer Heat is a snapshot of what our agents, task force officers, and analysts do daily to target, apprehend, and bring to justice the most dangerous, violent criminals wreaking havoc in our communities,” Ted E. Docks, special agent in charge of the division, said in the statement.
