Jacinta Allan was this week caught in a fib. It wasn’t a grievous lie, just a little porky of the “sorry, something came up” variety people resort to when they agree to do one thing and get a better offer to do something else.

Allan had agreed to speak at a Monday morning event organised by the Victorian Council of Social Service, the representative body for mainly not-for-profit organisations that help the state’s most disadvantaged people access housing, health and disability services and deal with family violence.
