A Lake Orion woman accused of intentionally driving her car into at least 10 people and a police officer will undergo a mental competency examination, officials said Wednesday.
Rachele Ricklefs, 30, was referred for a competency exam by a Warren district court judge on Tuesday, Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said.
The judge also scheduled a Dec. 2 hearing to review the evaluation's results and the status of the case, according to Lucido and court records.
“Before this case can proceed, the court must determine whether the defendant is competent to stand trial," Lucido said in a statement. "Our office respects that process, but our commitment to seeking justice remains unwavering.”
