MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — An investigation is underway after a church was vandalized ahead of a Turning Point USA event in Madison County.

On Wednesday morning, Madison County Sheriff deputies responded to a report of vandalism at The Movement Church in Madison.

Upon arrival, deputies noticed that the church's outside walls and entrance doors had been spray-painted with messages referencing an upcoming speaking event.

MCSO said that the damage was reported by church staff members who stated that the vandalism occurred sometime between 5 p.m. on October 7 and 8 a.m. on October 8.

According to the sheriff's office, detectives are investigating and are working to find out who is responsible.
