A mega student accommodation project has been proposed for an inner north site, potentially adding hundreds of beds to the tertiary education sector.
A site at 496 Northbourne Avenue, Dickson, which borders Antill and Challis streets, has been slated for the new student village following the lodgement of a development application.
If approved, the project will include space for just over 700 students in a purpose-built complex, spread across two buildings.
The first, comprised of nine storeys, would front Northbourne Avenue and include 173 beds across one-, two- and three-bedroom units.
A 10-storey building on Antill and Challis streets would include 532 beds across a mix of unit sizes.
