Canberra families have been left in limbo, as the closure of CIT Solutions leaves the ACT without an external senior-level language school.

Since 2017, students in the territory have been able to attend language classes outside of school, if their preferred language was not offered.

CIT Solutions took over these classes in 2024, from the Canberra Academy of Languages.

Since 2024, these classes have been run by CIT Solutions, the commercial arm of the Canberra Institute of Technology.

CIT announced the closure of CIT Solutions, in April, after reporting a worse-than-expected deficit for 2024.

Language classes for high school-aged students will continue until the end of 2025, but will not run classes into 2026.
