Six Nations residents displaced by the flooding of Iroquois Lodge will soon be moving closer to home.
Plans are underway to have about 50 of those forced from their home in June move into Fox Ridge Community, a long-term care home at 389 West St. The building has been purchased by the City of Brantford from Sienna Living with the deal set to close Oct. 30.

The move of the elders into the facility will take place sometime after Oct. 30 and is being done through a lease agreement between Brantford and the Six Nations elected band council. Details of the plan were discussed at a Wednesday social services committee meeting.
The committee agreed to the plan, which will likely be approved by both the city and Brant County councils.
