The chief financial officer of the University of Michigan has accepted the role of senior vice president of operations at Yale University.

Geoffrey Chatas, who also served as one of three executive vice presidents, oversaw UM’s business and finance organization, including the university’s investments, finance, facilities and operations and human resources.

With Chatas' departure and the ongoing search for a president, UM is now seeking replacements for two of its crucial leadership roles. However, the university said in the press release that it would not begin a search for a permanent CFO until after the next president is appointed.
