A chiropractor in South Carolina is accustomed to treating dogs and cats, but her latest patient came from a bit farther away — the Australian outback.
Inside Kopp Animal Chiropractic , a kangaroo in a diaper on a leash turned heads in the waiting room.
“Not exactly what you’d expect to see in the lobby,” said Dr. Christine Kopp. “He’s here for an adjustment.”
Kopp said she regularly works on pets and service animals, but never a marsupial.
“It’s definitely a little different,” she said. “A kangaroo does not stop moving for one second. Ever.”
The visit required extra help to keep the energetic patient in place.
“It takes an assistant and his owner to hold him still,” Kopp said as she carefully guided Roo onto the table.
The kangaroo’s anatomy, she explained, presents its own set o
