HOUSTON (KIAH) — There's a new Chief Operations Officer in town at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and he knows a lot about RodeoHouston.

The HLSR's new chief show operations officer is Kyle Olsen. With more than 20 years in leadership, and a long tenure with the organization, Rodeo leadership felt that he was an excellent choice for the job.

With over 2.7 million visitors in 2025, and the 2026 RodeoHouston just around the corner, Rodeo leadership looked for someone with the experience and expertise, to carry HLSR into 2026.

Olsen will replace Mike DeMarco, who is retiring about 34 years with RodeoHouston.

CW39 HTown Morning News anchor Sharron Melton talks with Olsen about how he feels about the honor, what's in store for the 2026 RodeoHouston season, and more.
