Phone and online voting used in last two elections to continue next year.

While Ontario’s municipal elections are about a year away, Perth East councillors still engaged in a lively debate Tuesday evening about just how that election will be conducted.

This discussion stemmed from a presentation by clerk Ashley Carter on potential voting methods for next year’s election. During the past two elections, the township used internet and telephone voting, along with in-person stations at several locations, including fire stations, nursing homes, the library and the township office, that provided voting assistance.
