New Delhi: In yet another provocative statement, Pakistan’s defence minister Khawaja Asif has claimed that India was “never a united nation” except under Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, while warning that the “threat of war with India is real”.

Speaking to Pakistan’s Samaa TV, Asif said that while Pakistanis may “argue and compete” among themselves, they “stand united” during any conflict with India. “History shows that India was never one united nation, except briefly under Aurangzeb. Pakistan was created in the name of Allah. At home, we argue and compete. But in a fight with India, we come together,” Asif said.
