WASHINGTON — Is Wordle getting the game show treatment?

The online word puzzle, which gained worldwide popularity during the pandemic, is reportedly being adapted into a game show for NBC. According to reports by Deadline , Variety and the Hollywood Reporter, the network is piloting a game show based on the New York Times game.

Jimmy Fallon, who has previously expressed his love for the game , is involved in the game show production, Deadline reported Tuesday. His company Electric Hot Dog is producing the game show adaptation along with Universal Television Alternative Studio and the New York Times.

The game gives players six tries to guess a five-letter word with only the previous guess providing clues.
