WASHINGTON, D.C. (KTIV) - Sen. Pete Ricketts of Nebraska held a reporter conference call this afternoon to discuss the ongoing federal government shutdown and what it means for Nebraskans.
One topic he focused on was continuing the expanded tele-health access for Medicare and Medicaid recipients that expired on Sept. 30.
When asked if he was worried about Nebraskans on those programs not being able to access remote health care, he acknowledged that while some providers have stopped use of the service, others are continuing to use, and are hoping to get reimbursed later by Medicare or Medicaid.
Ricketts said because the pandemic showed how effective tele-health can be, he believes there will be a broad bipartisan support in Congress to continue tele-health care services.
