UPDATE: 9:23 a.m. - October 9, 2025

The Jette Fire, which broke out north of Polson on Wednesday afternoon, has burned five acres.

The Polson Rural Fire District (PRFD) reports the blaze was contained as of Wednesday night.

CSKT Division of Fire personnel will return to the scene on Thursday to mop up any hot spots.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

"We ask everyone to please keep in mind that while burning is permitted at this time, you are responsible for keeping your burn under control," PRFD stated in a social media post.

"Conditions are still dry enough to support fire spread, particularly with a little bit of wind. You can be held liable for any damages caused by your fire."
