2Bicyclist killed in Neptune Township crash as investigation remains ongoing

NEPTUNE TOWNSHIP, NJ – A man riding a bicycle was killed Monday night after a collision with a vehicle on a busy stretch of roadway in Neptune Township, prompting an active investigation by local and county authorities.

The fatal crash occurred around 7:05 p.m. on October 6 in the area of Corlies Avenue (NJ Route 33 West) and South Main Street (NJ Route 71), where officers from the Neptune Township Police Department responded to reports of a crash involving a cyclist and a motor vehicle.

The male bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not released his identity pending family notification.
