GALAX, Va. (WDBJ) - Galax Elementary School is being treated Wednesday night with products designed to eliminate fleas and wasps found on campus, according to Galax City Public Schools .

The school division says Galax Elementary has been working with Orkin Pest Control “to address reports of skin irritation among students.” Testing has confirmed the presence of fleas and parasitic wasps in the building.

The products used for treatment are approved for use in hospitals and schools, according to the school division, and “Orkin will continue to monitor and re-treat as needed until the issue is fully resolved.”
