EVANS, Ga (WJBF)- A Columbia County deputy is in hot water after a post he made on social media involving a recent arrest. Now it's getting a lot of online attention.

Early Sunday morning, Columbia County deputies were investigating a suspicious person at the corner of Washington Road and Owens Road.

Later, one of them posted a photo of the suspect with blood on his face with a comment amounting to "Mess around and Find Out," using a vulgarity.

The Sheriff's Office says it is handling the matter internally. But now, the suspect's wife is speaking out.

"I know my husband left early that morning. I didn't hear from him until the next day until I found out he was incarcerated. As far as I know, he went to his sister's house. He left his sister's house just walking, just being an individua
