MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Juneau County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of a beloved former K9 on its police force.

The sheriff’s office announced Wednesday K9 Timo reached the end of his watch.

He served with his handler Deputy Brian Bader from October 21, 2013, through February 4, 2024.

Before coming to the Sheriff’s Office, K9 Timo received training at Steining Tal Kennel in Fond du Lac. He became certified in several areas, including criminal apprehension and building searches.

He was used more than 1,000 times during his time in service. Public demonstrations, school, tracking missing persons and drug detections were among many parts of his job.
