Srinagar, Oct 8: In a major crackdown, the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Wednesday carried out raids at eight locations across seven districts of the Kashmir Valley as part of an ongoing investigation into a sleeper cell module linked to proscribed terrorist organisations.

The searches were conducted under FIR No. 01/2025, registered at Police Station CI/SIA Kashmir, officials said.

According to a senior police official, the case pertains to a sleeper cell network operating under the command of terrorist handlers from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). “The module is being used to spread secessionist propaganda, radicalise youth, and facilitate their recruitment into terrorist ranks,” the official added.
