GRAND FORKS — Concerned community members have organized a public meeting following the recent termination of Everett C. Jones Sr. from his role as Northlands Rescue Mission's executive director.

The meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at Valley Christian Church, located at 3920 Cherry St. in Grand Forks.

Jones, five months after taking over the local nonprofit THAT houses and feeds the vulnerable populations in Grand Forks, said he was fired Thursday, Oct. 2, with no warning.

He suspectS the unanimous decision by the Mission's board of directors came due to a disagreement he had with one member about finances that he alleges escalated into harassment.
