STOCKHOLM (WCIA) -- A University of Illinois alumnus was one of three recipients to receive the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

The university said in a news release that Omar M. Yaghi received a Ph.D. in chemistry in 1990 and is currently a professor at the University of California, Berkeley. He is the 26th alumnus or faculty member to receive a coveted award, at least six of whom have received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
