NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - For the first time, witnesses are coming forward to WSMV4 Investigates to describe what they saw when a Tennessee state trooper slammed a man to the ground in an incident that was captured on video and posted to social media.

Three witnesses who were waiting in line for a concert near a crosswalk at First Avenue and Molloy Street said each saw the confrontation at different moments.

Chuck Isbell said the incident started when the man in the video was trying to walk across the crosswalk and a white pickup truck drove through without yielding.

“The guy reacted and he kicked the truck,” Isbell said. “And then the truck zipped over, jumped out, and it was a state trooper.”
