NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Multiple grants going toward affordable housing in Nashville were approved Wednesday afternoon.

The Metro Planning and Zoning Committee approved five resolutions for grants for affordable housing during their meeting Wednesday.

Three of the resolutions approved by the committee is for unnamed nonprofits from the Barnes Fund for Affordable Housing. The purpose of these grants are to fund the construction and rehabilitating affordable or workforce housing, according to the resolutions.

The approved grants from the Barnes Fund for Affordable Housing are for $5,458,000, $9,750,000 and $6,328,415.10, respectively.
