CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Alzheimer’s is a disease that hits close to home for many families.

However, a diagnosis doesn’t only impact the patient.

Experts in the field of Alzheimer’s passed on information about the disease and how to best care for those who have it.

The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America hosted an educational conference Wednesday morning

Sessions included “Navigating Alzheimer’s with a Multidisciplinary Approach,” “Alzheimer’s Planning & Medicaid Access,” and “Services Meeting the Struggles of Alzheimer’s.”

There are more than 38,000 people living with Alzheimer’s disease.

Charles Fuschillo, President and CEO of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, spoke about the driving force behind the conference.
