LOS ANGELES -- Gene Simmons, the co-founder of the iconic rock band KISS, was hospitalized Tuesday after he was involved in a car crash. According to NBC4 in Los Angeles, the rocker was traveling along the 25000 block of Pacific Coast Highway around 1 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a parked car.

Simmons’ wife, Shannon Tweed, told TMZ that her husband’s SUV crossed over several lanes of traffic before hitting the car and coming to a rest. Deputies with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department reported the 76-year-old guitarist and co-lead vocalist told them that he passed out or fainted before hitting the parked car.

Tweed told NBC4 that doctors recently changed her husband’s medication and advised him he needs to drink more water. Simmons was hospitalized briefly follow
