MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) - A search is underway in a Mount Pleasant neighborhood, after neighbors said someone abandoned a large iguana in Toler's Cove.

From backyard sightings to neighborhood group chats, the residents of Toler's Cove have been on the lookout after they saw what is believed to be a five-foot-long iguana, dumped in the area.

Resident Diana Bunzel expressed that it wasn't just a little lizard, but a big one. "You don't usually expect to see a five-foot iguana on your afternoon stroll."

Residents in Toler's Cove are used to seeing alligators on their walks. But what they saw last night stopped them in their tracks. Neighbors reported spotting what is believed to be a five-foot-long iguana roaming the neighborhood.
