SPRINGDALE, Utah — A wildfire burning inside Zion National Park has grown to approximately 25 acres, forcing the closure of a road and trail in the area.
The fire, which was sparked by lightning on Tuesday, is in the West Rim area of the park.
Twenty-five wildland firefighters are battling the flames, along with a Type 3 helicopter that is conducting water drops.
Due to the fire, Lava Point Road has been closed, and the West Rim trail is closed between Scout Lookout and Lava Point.
