JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) - The Northeast Tennessee Avian Rescue and Rehabilitation has been missing its Toucan, Dolly, since June.
Leigh Furman, the owner and founder of Northeast Tennessee Avian Rescue and Rehabilitation, said she got Dolly almost three years ago in Arizona. Furman said when she first got Dolly, the Toucan was in rough shape, but she helped bring the bird back to health.
In June, Furman said a volunteer had let Dolly loose and had been missing since. She said she received the first sighting of Dolly back in March, and even as recently as Monday, to no avail; however, Dolly is still out there.
Furman said it's been difficult not having her Toucan around and that she can barely sleep at night.
