WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A playground at the Gengras Center at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford got an upgrade.
Cal's Playground was built in 2002 for students with special needs.
"It was worn out," Michelle Lestrud, Gengras Center director, said. "It wasn't fully accessible for all of our students, the surface was very uneven."
One of the organizations responsible for the restoration project is the John G. Martin Foundation.
"This was a very well managed project," Garrett Flynn, president of the John G. Martin Foundation, said. "It happened right on time, right on budget, it was super efficient and it's beautiful."
