BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) -- Day three of the Konstantinos “Kosta” Diamantis bribery trial wrapped up on Wednesday with jurors hearing from three witnesses, one of whom said she paid Diamantis and hired his daughter in order to win favor with the former high-ranking state official.
Antoinetta Roy was just getting her start in the construction management business when Diamantis, who was in charge of funding construction of Connecticut public schools, recommended his own daughter as a potential employee. She testified that Diamantis told her, "take care of my daughter."
Roy told federal prosecutors that she hired Diamantis' daughter, who she said had no experience in construction and didn't appear interested in building a career in the industry.
