FAIR GROVE, Mo. (KY3) - Career Day is a time-honored tradition at schools across the country. But like most traditions, there have been changes over the years.

Fair Grove Elementary hosted some of the usual professionals, like veterinarians and business owners. However, new technology and career paths were also on display, including drone operators from the Springfield Police Department, who demonstrate how they use cutting-edge technology to protect the community.

“I mean, I’m 40 years old and I go, I didn’t know that was a job,” said Fair Grove Elementary Principal Ryan Buffington. “I didn’t know that was a career choice. Every kid knows a police officer, but to see someone like that flying a drone that works for the police department is a pretty neat opportunity for them.”
